The Art in Yorkshire (AIY) website is delivered on behalf of the AIY project partners by Axis.  Axis is the trading name of Axis Web, a company limited by guarantee (registered no. 2595018) and a registered charity (registered no 1002841).

For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, the Data Controller for art.yorkshire.com is Axis, Studio 17/18, 46 The Calls, Leeds, LS2 7EY.  Any queries regarding use of data and data policies should be addressed to the Head of Finance and Resources.

Introduction
Axis recognises privacy as an important issue. We therefore strive to ensure that the AIY services do not compromise the users privacy in any way. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal data we gather when you use the Axis web site, as well as some of the steps to safeguard it.

Personal data is information that individually identifies you, such as your name, address or email address, to which UK data protection laws apply.

Information we collect
You can access and browse art.yorkshire.com without disclosing your personal data.

art.yorkshire.com does not automatically capture or store personal data from visitors to the site, other than to log the users IP address. This information is used only for administration of the site system and in the compilation of statistics used by Axis to assess the use of the site.

To subscribe to the art.yorkshire.com email service we will require an email address. 

We may also ask some further, voluntary questions so we can gain a clearer understanding of our users.

Use of Personal data
Axis will use the personal data to provide and improve the service to the user, or notify the user of changes to the service.

We will never pass your details on to third parties without your express consent.
Axis may from time to time provide the user with information about products, services and events that we think may be of interest to you.

Axis may make personal data available internally to members of staff or to AIY partners, to enable them to monitor the performance of the service.

While it is unlikely, Axis may be required to disclose your personal data by a court order to comply with other legal requirements. We will use all reasonable endeavours to notify you before we do so, unless we are legally restricted from doing so.

Information Security
Axis will take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access to or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction of data.

Axis restrict access to your personally identifying information to employees who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services.

All Axis employees, who have access to, and are associated with the processing of personal data, are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our users personal data.

You can unsubscribe from the art.yorkshire.com email service by clicking the "unsubscribe" option at the bottom of any AIY email.

Assent to terms of privacy policy
By using the service you acknowledge that you have read the terms of this privacy policy and that you agree to us using your personal data for the purposes set out above and in the Axis terms and conditions for use of the website. Axis may amend this privacy policy at any time.
